Working without any additional sheets, a layer of clay is printed onto the underside of the original sheet with a coat of ink capsules onto the copy sheet. These layers are unnoticeable to the users due to how thin they are, which makes using the paper easy. When high pressure is applied onto the paper, the capsules break which releases ink onto the page and creates a permanent copy on the second sheet.

The ink capsules are minuscule. This creates an extremely high level of detail on the duplicate paper.
